A church was always envisaged as a focal point for the new village of Cambourne in Cambridgeshire from its inception in 1999. The site being transferred to Shared Churches (Ely) in 2002, since then Shared Churches (Ely) have been involved in a mammoth fundraising exercise which, in March 2009, resulted in main Contractor Keir Marriott commencing construction of the new church premises to a design by architects Bland Brown and Cole. 

Gaskell had been appointed Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Co-ordinator in the middle of 2008 and has been involved at all stages from initial inception, through design development, contract negotiations and the construction period.
