Bioenergy & Brewing Science Building

Bio-Fuels & Brewing- 241111-011

The Project:

The Bioenergy and Brewing Science Building on the University of Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington Campus brings together BioEnergy, Food Technology, Brewing Sciences and an external Brewing Company. It provides research and teaching laboratories, food sciences hall, offices for staff and post graduate students and features a state-of-the-art nano-brewery together with the external Brewing Companies pilot plant.

The brewery facilities are housed under a dramatic curved roof supported on a laminated timber structure, with the laboratories and offices in the more traditional north wing. A lake wraps around the building not only helping to sustainably manage rainwater but providing a habitat for wild life.

Gaskell were involved with all financial aspects of the Construction project including producing, along with other members of the design team, Employer’s Requirements document for tender, preparing contract documents, monitoring and reporting on the financial status during the works, agreeing the final account with the Contractor and providing costs for the enabling works for the Brewery Companies fit-out.
