The Project:

In a prominent position in central Leicester the Grade II listed building had formerly been used as banking premises.Gaskell was appointed to assess the current state of the fabric and convert the ground floor into two self-contained retail shell units for letting.

Having established the feasibility, Planning and Listed Building Consents were obtained, working drawings prepared and tendered.

Whilst retaining the existing features redundant services were stripped out and essential repairs to the fabric, including the roof were carried out.

External and internal modifications were undertaken to split the units and rationalise the mains services.

Gaskell continued to monitor the works and administer the contract through the construction period.
