The Project:
HomeserveEmergency Services (HES) havingoutgrown their existing premises in central Norwich required a new headquarters building in the local area.
Gaskell were appointed to provide technical assistance in the negotiationswith the Developer, co-ordinate the fit out of the new buildingandcontrol the cost of works undertaken by the main construction contractor together with those of specialist packages employed direct by HES.
Thisinitiallyinvolved agreement of the specification which wouldform the basis of the building to be leased and those works which would be incorporated into the design and paid for directly by HES.
Claremont Group Interiorswere appointed to provide the interior design and these works including internal partitioning, specialist lighting, etc. were generally incorporated into the main contractor’s works.
Specialist works undertaken directly for HES and overseen by Gaskell included:
- Construction & fitting out of a secureI.T.Comms.roomincorporating fire suppression, back up UPS and generator.
- Installation of a new Cafeteria and commercial kitchen.
- Security and access control systems.
- Furniture installation.
The whole of the works were completed in time for HES staff to move into their new premises as programmed.
