The Project:
The works, carried out in two phases, comprised the internal remodelling of three existing bungalows and the construction of one/two storey interlinking extensions to form a secure residential rehabilitation centre for eighteen patients.
Gaskell working with the NHS Trust undertook the initial feasibility which then progressed, through a number of iterations, into the final design for which Planning Approval was subsequently sought and obtained.
Phase 1, consisting of the works to two bungalows, was then tendered and commenced by the successful contractor. During the building period Gaskell provided additional construction details, issued instructions as variations were agreed and monitored the quality of workmanship achieved.
Following the successful completion and handover of Phase 1, Phase 2, incorporation and linking the third bungalow was then undertaken and completed.
