Travelodge, Stratford, London

The Project:

Close to the main Olympic venues in Stratford, this eleven storey, 188 bed hotel was constructed on the site of an old tyre depot by Bowmer & Kirkland Limited.

Following site clearance a steel transfer deck was constructed at first floor on which 229 prefabricated modular units, comprising bedrooms, linen rooms, stairs and lift shafts, were installed to create the ten upper floors.

The bedroom units were delivered to site fully finished including bathroom, decoration, carpets and loose furniture such as beds, chairs, pictures, etc.

Once the module installation was complete the external envelope was finished with a green sedum roof and aluminium rain screen cladding panels to walls.

The ground floor was fitted out to provide a reception, breakfast area and back of house functions including plant space.
